WHY SHOULD I USE AN INDOOR TANNING LOTION?
Dry skin can reflect UV light, negatively affecting your color development. Moisturized skin will prepare the skin to receive UV light and will produce the best results possible. The tanning lotions we sell at Sun Studio are specifically designed to be used for indoor tanning. You will achieve a healthier tan with products that work to provide vitamins and skin care ingredients that may be depleted during the tanning process. It is vital to replenish nutrients and moisture back into the skin. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I DON’T USE A TANNING LOTION? Your skin will be dehydrated and lose vital nutrients. Dehydrated skin will then work like a barrier and reflect UV light, limiting your absorption. A lot of what you tan is topical, without lotion your tan will not look healthy on dry skin and it will also fade faster. 
WHAT IS AN INTENSIFIER?
Intensifiers contain ingredients that help stimulate the melanin in your skin so you tan faster, keep your tan longer and get darker natural results. These lotions are great for building a base-tan and achieving color without the use of cosmetic color. WHAT IS A BRONZER? There are a few types of bronzers but in summary, tanning lotions with bronzers contain immediate color. Enjoy immediate satisfaction right when you get out of the sunbed. Most bronzers will last a few days and will wash away after multiple showers. IS THE LOTION THAT LOOKS THE DARKEST GOING TO BE THE DARKEST TAN? The darkest looking lotion doesn’t always mean it’s the best product. There are actually a lot of clear ingredients/technologies in some products that you won’t see right away out of the bottle. Sometimes these clear ingredients are what can actually build a dark tan on the skin long-term. |
HOW CAN I TRY A LOTION?
We have lotion packets available for single use to purchase. These are great when you want to make sure you like the product or if you just want to try something different for the day! 
WHY ARE SOME TANNING LOTIONS SO EXPENSIVE?
We offer a wide range of tanning lotions and while some lotions just focus on maximizing tanning, there are a variety of lotions we carry that also focus on the livelihood of your skin. Each lotion is crafted to help individuals reach different tanning goals! Some tanning lotions are layered with multiple professional skincare technologies and formulations. So as the price increases it also increases the value of the skincare and tanning capabilities. SHOULD I BUY TANNING LOTIONS ONLINE? Lotions should only be purchased from tanning salons that receive their products straight from their distributors! Online retailers will create copy-cat bottles and fill them with imitation product. Our distributor ONLY distributes to authorized tanning salons, online retailers cannot provide proof of authenticity. CAN I BRING IN MY OWN TANNING PRODUCTS? All outside products not purchased at Sun Studio must be checked in at the desk before your session. We do not allow any oils to be used while tanning in our beds. Oils and oil-based lotions can cause damage to the acrylic and ruin our beds. Tingle Lotions are not permitted in the salon. Tan extenders are specialized lotions designed to lengthen the life of your tan. A tan extender will condition the skin for better tanning results, while nourishing with essential vitamins and nutrients. Tan extenders also help lock in your color for a longer-lasting tan.
